ABOUT US

Biblioteka is a rock and roll band from Seattle, WA. Spawned from the underground, they can be found playing dirty basements to big venues in front of thousands.

Inspired by powerful women in rock and roll, Mary Robins harnessed an unrelenting urge to become a badass rock and roll queen. With her hand-painted black-and-white Fender Strat in tow, Mary met guitarist Hexx as he was on the verge of beginning a new project. They vibed on 70’s punk and new wave - including the likes of Blondie, B52’s, Joan Jett, and David Bowie - and with their vision, they formed Biblioteka.

Hillary Tusick was discovered from her project Linda From Work, and was asked to join as keyboardist and back-up singer. She elevated their sound with her talent and distinctive synth. Mary met Sam Nowak working a hotel gig overnight, and as he strolled in wearing a cool leather jacket, she knew he had to be in the band.

In 2018, Biblioteka released their Debut Raspberry Jelly. The Stranger called Raspberry Jelly “a treat perfect for summer that stays good all year long.” In 2020, Biblioteka released their second EP, Checked Out. While their Summer 2020 tour was cancelled due to a global pandemic, Mary and Hexx ventured out to host BiG BLDG’s “Grounded” Livestream Series, offering a platform to other Seattle-area musicians in the time of pandemic.

Since then, Biblioteka has been featured on Seattle Times’ Best Seattle Albums of 2020 Critic’s Ballots, and are due to release their first full-length album in 2021.
